Presiden Obama Visits Fox High School

Since I moved back to Missouri from DC, I thought I would miss all the political action. Wow, was I wrong. Since returning I have been working as a teacher in Arnold, MO at the Fox C-6 District. In the last year I have accepted a position at Fox High School. Since that time, we will have hosted the Vice President and President of the United States. So the fact that I was worried about being away from the political beat is now absurd. I have seen more political action here in Arnold than I would ever get to see in DC.

I look forward to tomorrow's event which I will attend and serve as the liaison between our student volunteers and the white house advance team.

There's a fight brewing in Missouri!

Dear Fellow Council Members and State Chairs,

I wanted to take a minute and make you aware of the upcoming fight I'm facing here in Missouri. As many of you know, I have been fighting hard for our veterans here in the show me state. Now that we have captured the Governor's office again, I have put in for appointment to the Missouri Veterans Commission.

Today, I learned that the republican infested Missouri American Legion has denied me an opportunity to REQUEST their support for my nomination. Those in leadership of many of our statewide veterans groups are former public supporters of John McCain and loyalist of our failed former Governor, Matt Blunt.

So with that said, the fight has begun. In the coming weeks and months, I hope I will hear from many of you with your suggestions and comments.

At thirty years of age, ensuring that my generation of veterans have a voice is a must. My brothers and sisters bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan, I hear your voice and I won't let you down!

Sara Palin: Dick Cheney in a Skirt! ! ! !

Sara Palin made her long anticipated world introduction at last night at the RNC convention. And, as was expected from all of us "evil, out-of-touch democrats", she came out swinging and slurring insults at Senator Obama.

Bragging about her accomplishments as Mayor of some Podunk town in ALASKA (No, I really mean ALASKA!), Palin began her speach by making the flagrant comparison that community organizers don't have a real leadership role...Palin aka "Sara Baracuda" continued her rant by introducing her family. She went on to basically say she was just a hockey mom...and people are hard on her because she's a woman...(blah, blah, blah says Hillary)

She also spoke about her son Track, who is going to be leaving for Iraq...she went on make the case she was a military mom... But, I can't believe as a governor she is making a conscience decision to send her son off to a war that we have no business fighting. It's the wrong time, wrong war...the wrong everything. This, as if nothing else will, should give a clear understanding of character....

Mike Evans Reiterates Support for Sam Page as Missouri's next Lieutenant Governor

Dear Friends:

I am writing today to express my unwavering support for Rep. Sam Page's candidacy to become Missouri's next Lieutenant Governor. After traveling well over 30,000 miles around Missouri vigorously campaigning, I made the decision as a good democrat to withdraw and stand with Rep. Sam Page. It is imperative we take back the Lt. Governor's office in 2008 and ensure that all Missourians have a true advocate, especially our veterans and seniors. The democratic candidate best suited to make this a reality is Rep. Sam Page.

As I stated in my announcement several months ago, it's important we stand behind BOTH Jay Nixon and Sam Page and clear the field of any distractions. I stand by my initial statement and reaffirm its importance as we approach the 2008 primary election.

Clinton Campaign goes up in Smoke

The Obama momentum has taken its toll on the former front runner for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Clinton. In the last week alone Clinton campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle and deputy manager Mike Henry have both quit the campaign. This, comes after Clinton suffered two devastating losses in the Feb 9th and Potomac primaries.

Today, Clinton is putting on her money on a "Rudy" strategy which consist of a "must win" in Ohio, Texas and Pennsylvania. In Ohio she is facing tough opposition from blue collar workers for her role with NAFTA. Interestingly she denies this accusation saying: "she had nothing to do with NAFTA" and to "blame her husband".

Clinton is banking on her days as first lady as part of her wealth of "experience"....so it will be hard for her to back away from her experiences in the White house to many times.

At this point there's no turning back and time will soon tell whether she goes on the fight another day!

Despite what some (yes, you asshole) have said, I made the right choice in supporting Sen. Barack Obama!

Kerry: Swiftboating

The following is an email from Sen. John Kerry on the recent attempts to swift boat Barack Obama. :

I support Barack Obama because he doesn't seek to perfect the politics of Swiftboating -- he seeks to end it.

This is personal for me, and for a whole lot of Americans who lived through the 2004 election.

As a veteran, it disgusts me that the Swift Boats we loved while we were in uniform on the Mekong Delta have been rendered, in Karl Rove's twisted politics, an ugly verb meaning to lie about someone's character just to win an election. The 2008 presidential elections are the most important elections in the recent history of our country. As these elections approach, Americans are plagued by turmoil in the housing market, record high gas prices and a costly war in Iraq. It is time restore a sense of hope and confidence in the American dream. The candidate best suited to do this is Senator Barack Obama.

I'm supporting Senator Obama for many reasons, but the most important to me are: 1) his clear opposition to the war in Iraq from the very beginning, 2) his comprehensive plan to reintegrate our Veterans as they return from war, and 3) his plan to revamp the Veterans health care system. Former State Representative Joan Barry, a Democrat, represented part of South St. Louis County (District 100) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to the House of Representatives in March of 1996 in a special election, re-elected in November 1996, 1998, and 2000.

Obama Wins...and BIG!

In last night's Iowa caucuses, Barack Obama took some 38% of the total votes, leaving Clinton and Edwards fighting for second and third place. So what's this mean for the junior senator from Illinois? It means he's still got to hang tough in New Hampshire, however, if Obama emerges victorious next Tuesday, we just might have our nominee!

For now, onward we go and await the results as we pluck away for our horse in the race of all races!

Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt (R) is the most vulnerable governor seeking reelection, with even some Republicans conceding the race now leans to Attorney General Jay Nixon (D). Blunt's biggest problem has been the fallout from his decision to cut roughly 100,000 people from the Medicaid rolls early in his term. Blunt has been further battered by the complicated, but slowly unfolding, story of Scott Eckersley, a state lawyer who clashed with his superiors over how long to retain e-mails under the law. Eckersley was fired and now accuses the administration of smearing him.
